Jamie Denburg Habie is a Guatemalan artist and cultural practitioner based in Antigua, Guatemala. Her work explores unexpected relationships between human, mineral, animal, and celestial bodies to challenge human-centric narratives and emphasize synergies between systems. Often interactive, her art draws from neuroscience, material studies, meditation, somatic practices, and ecology to create spaces of expanded perception and collectivity through embodiment.

Jamie’s current practice extends into the intersection of art and science, developing visual and somatic experiences designed to support nervous system regulation and wellbeing in healthcare and public contexts — working in dialogue with researchers, clinicians, and institutions to reclaim agency for the body as a site of knowledge and healing.

A graduate of Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University, Jamie has an interdisciplinary background in art and politics. Jamie co-founded and formerly directed La Nueva Fábrica (est. 2013), a non-profit contemporary art space in Antigua, Guatemala dedicated to empowering diverse communities through exhibitions, education, residencies, and global partnerships.
